BioCharacter's Profile: Ringo was born "Shiina Yumiko," the daughter of a dance instructor and a dentist in Saitama, Japan. For the first few years of her life, she led an incredibly normal childhood. She was enrolled in a number of dance classes at the same time she started primary school, and had a number of friends in and out of school. Among her peers, Ringo was a very outgoing child and was constantly making herself the center of attention. She was popular and got good grades.
That changed, however, right after Ringo turned six. Her mother took her on a trip to Kyoto to visit some relatives and attend a dance recital. The next thing she knew, the two of them were living in Kyoto while her father stayed in Saitama. It wasn't long after that, that her parents got a divorce and her mother remarried a Korean architect. About a year later, Ringo's half brother, Key, was born.
At first, Ringo absolutely hated her little brother. She thought he was annoying, since all he did was cry and try to pull her hair. When he got a little older, she found him easier to deal with, but she still did not like him much. Instead she just tolerated him and used him for things when she needed an extra pair of hands.
As Ringo grew up, she continued taking dance classes, though she eventually had to quit due to health issues. After graduating high school, she moved to Tokyo for university to major in accounting because she had no idea what else she could do. About a year into the program, she dropped out and worked random jobs in the city until she landed a job as a receptionist for a rather well-known government official. That job lasted a good four years or so until things got rocky; she and said government-man had been seeing each other on a more than friendly basis and it went rotten.
When Key showed up in Tokyo looking for a place to stay, Ringo agreed to let him move into her new place in Mitaka, Tokyo. Now they have been living together for a little over a year and she hopes to land a new, better job at Turbo...
